LogisVert, explained by an electrician
Most people looking up LogisVert want solar panels or a heat pump. Both often need more electrical capacity. We explain the program, then the electrical part we do.
What is LogisVert?
LogisVert is Hydro-Québec’s financial assistance program for energy-efficiency and self-generation measures in homes. It pays part of the cost of buying and installing a heat pump, solar panels, roof insulation and other equipment, after the work is done.
The main measures
- Solar panels: $1,000 per kW, up to 40% of costs
- Heat pump: up to $6,700
- Roof insulation and air sealing
- Induction range, heat pump dryer
- Heat storage unit, geothermal
Solar: how much?
$1,000 per installed kilowatt, up to 40% of the total purchase and installation cost, for panels installed since June 30, 2025. Example: a 5 kW system can receive up to $5,000, as long as that’s no more than 40% of its cost.
Solar conditions
- New panels, bought in Québec, CSA-certified (or UL/IEC equivalent)
- House, semi, row house, cottage, plex or building of 19 units or fewer
- Grid connection approved by Hydro-Québec
- Roof repair or replacement isn’t eligible
Heat pump: what the electrician has to check
A heat pump needs a dedicated circuit and enough capacity in the panel. In a 100 A house already heated with electricity, you often need to go to 200 A before installing it. We check the capacity from a photo of your panel.
On the rebate side, LogisVert pays $50 per 1,000 BTU/h of capacity at -8 °C for an ENERGY STAR heat pump, and $120 for a cold-climate model, up to $6,700. The model must be on Hydro-Québec’s list.
Before the heat pump
Indoor 200 A panel from $2,495
Full 200 A service from $3,495. Materials, Hydro-Québec and inspection included, before taxes. We don’t install the heat pump itself: we prepare the service and the circuit for your installer.
Is solar worth it in Québec?
It depends on your home. Electricity is cheap in Québec, so a solar system pays for itself more slowly than elsewhere, even with LogisVert. Your roof, which way it faces, shade and your usage make the difference. We run the numbers with your Hydro-Québec bills and show them to you.
If it isn’t worth it for your home, we say so.
